Literary Mama ( A Literary Magazine)

Fellow blogger Gaijin Mama introduced me to "Literary Mama" a couple of months ago and I've been hooked ever since. Do take a look at it when you can and hope you enjoy the articles/stories as much as I have.

This will probably be my last post for a week or so - I have to concentrate on getting ready for our trip to Wales. We should be home (Canada) on the 25th. "See" you all then.

Happy Blogging until then!

You'd probably see this when you get back but anyway, here's to say, enjoy your holiday in Wales.

Thanks so much, Suse! I am looking forward to the return trip. I am told Wales is beautiful. I cannot wait!

Will "see" you real soon, I miss you!

Hi Lotus, if you do get another chance to see this, it's home of the poets.
And also famous novelists.
One title 'How Green My Valley'.
It's Dylan Thomas country.
English poet - alocholic but handsome & charismatic.
Also wrote 'Under Milk Wood' a famous play.
I once saw a documentary featuring his life & how as a little boy, he used to run for miles on the rolling countryside. Laughing...dancing...playing..He loves his Wales so much.
hugs

Suse! I'm still here!

Thanks so much for reminding me that Wales is the home of Dylan Thomas - I shall read a little of his poetry in preparation. Thanks so much!!!

*hugs galore*

Oh dear, Lotus...
my grammar is getting from bad to worse.
Should have been,
'run for miles about the rolling countryside...and also
He loved his Wales so much. (past tense)
red-face here!

Going to Wales? You'll love it. North, South, east or west- it's fab. I went earlier this summer and loved it - I have connections there and am biased but I am certain you'll have a wonderful time. I have a post about Wales on my blog including a link to a cottage provider which may be useful, if you're not sorted yet. Have fun!

Hey, Suse! Love the red face! :) Seriously, tho' - like you my mind works faster than my fingers, so don't worry about it! ;) BTW, it's a miracle, but I still have my internet connection!

Angela: Will be happy to oblige! I've heard it's beautiful, so I cannot wait!

Oh Jude, you've got me soooo excited about Wales! We're only going to be there one day, but I intend to make the most of it! Will check out your blog as soon as I can. Thanks! :)))

I know that you will enjoy Wales...I have family there and we always spend Easter walking around looking at all the baby lambs!

I came across this book when doing some research for work. Though you might be interested if you haven't already looked at it

Women Writing in India: 600 B.C. to the Present (Paperback)
by Susie Tharu

It looks really interesting!

Look forward to hearing more about your trip!

Safe journey! Enjoy your visit to Wales. I was just in the Cotswolds and really lovely this time of year (just overlook the rain). :)

Melissa,
c/o Lotus,

Hey Melissa,
What a terrific cute line. Clever you!

Melissa: Don't know about the gales but, man, was Wales, wet!!! Wish it was like the rain in Spain, but sadly, it didn't stay on the plane! ;)

Dawn: I envy you for having family in Wales. That's such a great place to go on holiday. Which part of Wales are they from? And do they possess that lovely Welsh accent? Thank you for the headsup on the Women's Indian writing book, I will definitely look it up!

Beloved: Can't wait to hear what you think of LM. I am pleasantly surprised by their articles and stories from women writers from all over the world!

Angela: I cannot recommend Wales enough! It's a wonderful relaxing holiday and its scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. I hope you get to go! I know I definitely want to return! I will be visiting your blog shortly in order to catch up with all the travelling you've been doing - ohhh the joys of living in Europe!

Parisparfait: Lucky you to have spent time in the Cotswolds! In my next life I wouldn't mind living in Wales, except, I would be so drunk on all that scenic beauty, I don't know if I would ever want to work or do anything else! Maybe I could be a poet! :)

Bhaswati: Thank you! It was a wonderful trip and oh, I have a bad case of post-holiday blues! WHen are you planning on visiting this side of the world?

Susan: I have the same question for you - when do you intend travelling here? I would love to show you around!

Hi Lotus, I think after I have settled a book contract and then I'll go back to Africa from London for a little while. After that, I'd love the idea of coming to Canada. But how do we know life's twists and turns. It could just as well be the other way round.
lots of love

How I would love to visit you and all my Canadian friends, Lotus! Alas, I need a FAT contract for that to happen. No harm daydreaming. :P

Lotus Reads said...

Hi, Suse!

I can't wait to celebrate your book contract with you. You are more than deserving of it. Thanks so much for regaling us with stories from your African safaris, I cannot even begin to express how entertaining and enjoyable they are. I look forward to your every post!!!

Hi,Bhaswati!

Something tells me that the lucrative contract is just around the corner! :)

Thanks, Danielle! Wales was just beautiful! I need to return there and soon!

It is the 25th and I can hardle wait to see and "hear" all about Wales!

Lotus Reads said...

Hi, Angela!

Thanks for the interest! The only thing keeping me from doing a post on Wales at the moment is that the software for my new digital camera is in the suitcase misplaced ( I daren't use the word "lost") by British Airways on our way back from London, arrrrgggh! Please keep your fingers crossed it arrives soon. I don't have very many pictures of Wales, after all, we were there for just a day and it was a rainy and foggy one at that, still, I would love to be able to download the few pictures I do have!
